Fang Hua – Liu Bao Tea 2012 Vintage
This aged Liubao tea from Guangxi is made from old-growth local tea trees and traditional handcrafted processing. It offers a rich, smooth, and deeply layered character with natural golden flowers (Jin Hua). The tea is low in caffeine and easy to drink, making it suitable for daily tea drinkers, aged dark tea lovers, and those who enjoy mellow, warming, and complex teas with aging potential.
The aroma is pure, deep, and comforting, with notes of camphor, sweet floral, honey, red bean, and a gentle fungal fragrance typical of fine aged Liubao tea. A faint milky sweetness appears in later infusions. The taste is thick, smooth, mellow, and rounded, with a rich texture and lingering glutinous sweetness. The liquor feels soft and mouth-watering, leaving lasting salivation and a clean sweet finish. As the session continues, the tea becomes sweeter, softer, and more elegant.
This tea is traditionally crafted using the classic Liubao “double steaming and double pressing” technique. The leaves are hand-picked in spring and carefully processed to preserve depth and aging potential. After production, the tea was naturally aged for more than ten years in a dry wooden warehouse, allowing the smoky and sharp notes to fade while developing a mature, smooth, and harmonious profile. Natural golden flowers formed during aging add extra sweetness, softness, and a unique floral fungal character valued in traditional dark tea culture.
