Basic Information

Crafted from premium tender leaves—one bud with one to two leaves—this tea features thick, plump leaf material rich in internal substances. The dry leaves are tightly rolled, robust in shape, with a glossy, dark appearance. Naturally aged in a dry warehouse for over a decade, it exudes a distinctive aged aroma interwoven with hints of pine.

Once brewed, the tea liquor ranges from bright amber-yellow to orange-red, clear and luminous. The taste is mellow and smooth, with a thick body and a rich, layered profile. Smoky notes mingle with aged woody and medicinal undertones, slowly revealing the refined depth of a well-matured tea. The sweetness lingers, with a lasting throat feel and a comforting finish.

Tianjian Tea is considered the finest variety among Anhua dark teas. Historically known as an “imperial tribute tea,” Tianjian was exclusively reserved for the royal family, giving it a prestigious and highly esteemed status. This 2013 Tianjian dark tea is not only ideal for daily enjoyment but also holds excellent value for aging and collection. A true classic for lovers of Anhua dark tea.

Steeping Guidelines

Easy Mug Bre

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:100. Put the leaves directly into a mug, add boiling water, and steep for 5 to 7 minutes. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing.

Traditional Gongfu Style

Pre-warm the gaiwan or Yixing teapot. Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:30. Brew with water at 100°C (212°F). For the first two infusions, steep for about 10 seconds each. Gradually increase the steeping time with each additional infusion. Pour the tea liquor completely out after each brew.

Thermal Steeping

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:200. Pour boiling water into a ceramic-lined insulated flask or teapot. Close the lid and let it steep for 1 to 2 hours before drinking. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing and enjoying.
