Qimen An Tea is a traditional dark tea from Qimen, Anhui. Made from the Zhu Ye Zhong cultivar and harvested in spring 2024, it is smooth, mellow, and naturally sweet. Rich in amino acids, it is suitable for daily drinking and for tea lovers who enjoy aged Chinese teas. Its gentle character also makes it a good choice for beginners.

The aroma is floral and lingering, with notes of bamboo, herbs, and a distinctive betel-nut fragrance. The liquor is bright orange-yellow. The taste is smooth, rich, and balanced, with lasting sweetness and a pleasant salivating finish.

This tea is made using traditional An Tea craftsmanship, including the unique Twice-Dew and roasting process. It is carefully handcrafted through multiple steps, creating a tea that is gentle, harmonious, and suitable for aging. As it ages, the flavor becomes smoother and more refined.

Steeping Guidelines

Easy Mug Brew

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:300. Put the leaves directly into a mug, add boiling water, and steep for 5 to 7 minutes. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing.

Traditional Gongfu Style

Pre-warm the gaiwan or Yixing teapot. Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:35. Brew with water at 100°C (212°F). For the first two infusions, steep for about 10 seconds each. Gradually increase the steeping time with each additional infusion. Pour the tea liquor completely out after each brew.

Thermal Steeping

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:300. Pour boiling water into a ceramic-lined insulated flask or teapot. Close the lid and let it steep for 1 to 2 hours before drinking. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing and enjoying.
