Tea Story
Tea Story
Crafted with care by Wang Shunming, a national-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor, this Rou Gui oolong tea stands as a star of Wuyi Rock Teas. Grown at an average altitude of 650 meters in the unique terroir of Wuyi Mountain, Rou Gui thrives in red sandstone weathered soils that are loose, high in humus, and mildly acidic. The region’s abundant rainfall, mist-shrouded mountains, and moderate climate—with warm winters and cool summers—provide the ideal environment for tea cultivation, blessed with a constant flow of pure spring water that nourishes the tea plants.
Renowned for its sharp, lasting aroma reminiscent of cinnamon, this Rou Gui tea offers a rich, refreshing taste with a pronounced “rock essence.” The finished tea leaves are tightly curled with a dark, lustrous appearance, showing hints of red. Rou Gui’s strong, spicy fragrance endures through multiple infusions, with a thick, lively taste and a clear, golden-yellow liquor. Its bright yellow tea leaves, tightly curled and richly colored in brown-green hues, give this tea its distinguished texture and aromatic persistence, making it a favorite among tea enthusiasts.
