A meticulously aged 2000 Liubao Dark Tea from Liubao Town, Guangxi, made from the Guiqing cultivar and primarily sourced from 50–60-year-old tea trees. Naturally aged for over 25 years in a dry wooden-board warehouse, it has developed remarkable depth, smoothness, and clarity. Crafted from tender spring buds and leaves, this tea offers an elegant expression of traditional Liubao with excellent aging character for both daily enjoyment and tea appreciation.

Ginseng, woody, honey, herbal, milky, and subtle bean aromas unfold with a clean, deep, and lasting fragrance. The liquor is deep red and translucent, with a mellow, smooth, viscous, and creamy texture, followed by gentle sweetness and a refreshing cooling sensation in the throat. Early infusions highlight ginseng and medicinal notes; later infusions gradually reveal woody and honey aromas with a soft, glutinous sweetness. From the first infusion to well beyond the tenth, its texture and fragrance remain remarkably consistent, demonstrating excellent endurance. When simmered, the tea becomes deeper, thicker, and more aromatic, with a rich dark-jujube color and an even fuller finish.

Traditional double-steaming and double-pressing techniques give this Liubao its distinctive character. After initial steaming and fermentation, the tea undergoes secondary re-steaming and pressing before being carefully dried and stored. More than twenty-five years of dry wooden-board storage have allowed the tea to transform slowly and naturally, developing its characteristic ginseng, woody, honey, and medicinal aromas while maintaining a clean and pure profile. The combination of mature raw material, traditional processing, and long-term dry storage creates a smooth, layered, and refined Liubao with impressive depth and aging potential.

Steeping Guidelines

Easy Mug Brew

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:150. Put the leaves directly into a mug, add boiling water, and steep for 5 to 7 minutes. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing.

Traditional Gongfu Style

Pre-warm the gaiwan or Yixing teapot. Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:35. Brew with water at 100°C (212°F). For the first two infusions, steep for about 10 seconds each. Gradually increase the steeping time with each additional infusion. Pour the tea liquor completely out after each brew.

Thermal Steeping

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:250. Pour boiling water into a ceramic-lined insulated flask or teapot. Close the lid and let it steep for 1 to 2 hours before drinking. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing and enjoying.
