Dongting Mountain Biluochun is one of China’s most famous green teas, originating from the Dongting Mountain region around Taihu Lake in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Famous for its naturally floral and fruity aroma, this hand-crafted green tea is made from tender spring buds and young leaves picked from traditional local tea cultivars. Its fresh, brisk taste and elegant sweetness make it ideal for green tea lovers and daily tea drinking.

Dongting Mountain Biluochun offers a fresh and delicate tasting experience. The tea gardens are traditionally intercropped with peach, plum, apricot, and loquat trees, allowing the leaves to naturally absorb floral and fruity aromas. When brewed, the tea liquor is bright yellow-green with a smooth and silky texture. The flavor is fresh, floral, fruity, sweet, and lingering, with a refreshing aftertaste and gentle vegetal notes.

Authentic Dongting Mountain Biluochun is entirely hand-crafted using traditional Chinese green tea processing techniques, including fixation, rolling, spiral shaping, and drying. Tea masters carefully control the heat and shaping process to preserve the tea’s signature spiral appearance, white downy hairs, and delicate fragrance.

This tea comes from the Dongting Mountain area surrounding Taihu Lake in Suzhou, including Dongshan and Xishan Island. Authentic Biluochun is made from tender one-bud-one-leaf spring pickings from local tea bush varieties. About 65,000 tender buds are needed to produce just 500 grams of finished tea, reflecting the rarity and premium quality of this famous Chinese green tea.

Steeping Guidelines

Warm the glass cup with hot water first to help bring out the tea aroma. Let boiling water cool for 2–3 minutes to around 80–90°C (175–195°F), then fill the cup about 70% full. Add about 3g of tea leaves for every 150–300ml of water. Let the leaves slowly open and sink. Steep the first brew for about 15–60 seconds, depending on your taste. When about one-third of the tea remains, add more hot water to continue brewing.
