Into Dreams - Qi Nan Agarwood Nourishing Tea 50g (2.5gx20)
The raw materials for this nourishing agarwood tea come from one of the oldest Qi-Nan agarwood plantations across the Taiwan Strait. The plantation was first developed in 1968 and has a history of more than 50 years.
There are currently about 2,200 agarwood trees growing in the plantation, including:
—About 700 premium Qi-Nan agarwood trees that are over 40 years old with trunk diameters exceeding 40 cm
—About 1,300 agarwood trees with trunk diameters of around 30 cm
All agarwood produced in this plantation is naturally formed, which is considered the most precious type.
Generally, agarwood can form in three different ways:
—Artificial induction
—External force induction
—Natural formation
Among them, natural formation is the rarest and produces the highest quality agarwood.
Two Key Conditions for Natural Agarwood Formation
1. Internal Condition
The agarwood tree must reach at least 40 years of age, becoming a mature old tree with a strong and tall trunk and abundant natural resin. These characteristics form the essential foundation for agarwood development. In general, the older the tree, the richer the resin and the higher the quality of the agarwood.
2. External Condition
Agarwood trees grow best in warm climates with abundant sunshine and rainfall. Natural factors such as insects, animals, and environmental damage may cause small wounds to the tree. These injuries stimulate the tree to secrete resin over time, gradually forming valuable agarwood. In some cases, this process can even produce high-grade Qi-Nan agarwood suitable for extracting precious agarwood essential oil.
According to the ancient Chinese medical text “Compendium of Materia Medica (Bencao Gangmu)”:
“Agarwood calms the mind, nourishes the five internal organs, warms the lower back and knees, and supports the spleen and stomach.”
Among all types of agarwood, Qi-Nan agarwood is regarded as the finest and most valuable. The older the tree, the greater the likelihood of natural agarwood formation.
