Made from carefully selected Grade 1 Anhua dark raw tea leaves harvested from Yuntaishan’s large-leaf tea trees in Anhua, Hunan, this traditional Fu Brick Tea is crafted from tender, nutrient-rich leaves picked around Grain Rain, typically one bud with two to three leaves. Its defining character comes from the traditional Seven-Star Stove pine-wood open-flame roasting process, combined with natural “flowering” that develops abundant Golden Flowers (Eurotium cristatum) throughout the brick. The result is a distinctive Fu Brick Tea with deep character, rich internal substance, and excellent aging potential.

A pronounced yet clean pine-smoke aroma rises from the dry leaves, complemented by a rich fungal fragrance from the Golden Flowers. Once brewed, the liquor turns a bright, clear orange-yellow with a smooth, full-bodied texture. Mellow and rounded on the palate, it balances gentle pine-smoke notes with a distinctive fungal-floral aroma, followed by a lingering sweetness and clean finish. The tea also offers excellent brewing endurance, maintaining its depth and balance through multiple infusions.

Traditional craftsmanship gives this Fu Brick Tea its unique character. After screening, fermentation, pressing, natural flowering, and drying, the semi-finished tea undergoes Seven-Star Stove pine-wood open-flame roasting, allowing the tea to naturally absorb a refined pine-smoke aroma. Over time, this distinctive smoky character gradually integrates with the tea’s evolving aged and woody notes, creating greater depth, smoothness, and complexity. With proper storage and continued aging, the flavor profile can become increasingly mellow and profound, making it equally rewarding for everyday drinking and long-term collection.

Steeping Guidelines

Easy Mug Brew

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:100. Put the leaves directly into a mug, add boiling water, and steep for 5 to 7 minutes. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing.

Traditional Gongfu Style

Pre-warm the gaiwan or Yixing teapot. Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:25. Brew with water at 100°C (212°F). For the first two infusions, steep for about 10 seconds each. Gradually increase the steeping time with each additional infusion. Pour the tea liquor completely out after each brew.

Thermal Steeping

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:200. Pour boiling water into a ceramic-lined insulated flask or teapot. Close the lid and let it steep for 1 to 2 hours before drinking. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing and enjoying.
