Beauty of Cultivars – White Tea Sampler Set 40g (5g x 8)
This curated Zhenghe White Tea tasting collection features four representative local varieties: Meizhan, Shuixian White, Xiaocaicha, and Zhenghe Da Bai. Harvested in Spring 2021 and crafted with minimal oxidation, these teas express the distinctive terroir and traditional craftsmanship of Zhenghe County. Zhenghe White Tea, a protected Chinese Geographical Indication product, is celebrated for its pure downy aroma, refreshing liquor, and lingering sweetness.
Each tea in the collection reveals its own unique character while sharing the elegant signature of Zhenghe white tea. The aroma presents layered floral, fruity, herbal, milky, and honey-like notes, while the liquor is sweet, smooth, full-bodied, mellow, and delicately balanced. Rich in theanine and catechins with a moderate caffeine level, this tasting set offers a refined introduction to the diversity, depth, and terroir-driven beauty of traditional Zhenghe White Tea.
Zhenghe County, located in the mountainous region of northern Fujian Province at an average elevation of around 800 meters, is one of the birthplaces of Chinese white tea. Tea cultivation in this area dates back to the late Tang and early Song dynasties. During the Song Dynasty, Zhenghe became the core production area of the renowned Beiyuan Tribute Tea. In 1115 CE, white tea from this region was presented as imperial tribute to Emperor Huizong of Song, who bestowed the era name “Zhenghe” upon the county — a name it still carries today.
