Three Abundances Shiliu Cup Blue and White Xuande Red 90 ml
Shipping location:
This Blue-and-White and Xuande Red “Three Abundances” Shiliu (Pomegranate) Cup with open-panel decoration is handcrafted by Master Hu Min, founder of Runcuitang of the renowned Jingdezhen kiln family known as the “Langhong Heritage.” Runcuitang carries a long and distinguished ceramic tradition, tracing its roots back to the Hongjia Kiln during the late Kangxi period of the Qing dynasty. For centuries, the workshop has specialized in color-glaze porcelain and has been highly regarded for its mastery of glaze artistry, historically even commissioned by imperial kilns.
The cup features a graceful and well-balanced form, elegant in proportion and refined in spirit. Its design combines the scholarly aesthetics of traditional Chinese literati ware with auspicious symbolism.
The body is primarily decorated in classic blue-and-white underglaze. The porcelain surface is smooth and luminous, while the cobalt blue tones appear calm and refined. The exterior is adorned with open-panel cartouches, within which the traditional “Three Abundances” motif is painted. The central design features pomegranates with spreading branches and plump fruit. The lines are fluid and natural, and the painting lively and expressive. In Chinese symbolism, the pomegranate represents many descendants, abundant blessings, and longevity, conveying wishes for prosperity, harmony, and flourishing family fortune.
Around the rim and beyond the panels, additional blue-and-white decorative bands frame the composition, creating visual harmony and a balanced layered effect.
The base of the cup is finished with a rich Xuande red glaze, warm and full-bodied in tone. The deep red contrasts beautifully with the serene blue-and-white decoration, forming a classic and elegant pairing often admired in traditional imperial porcelain aesthetics.
Taken as a whole, the cup embodies quiet elegance in blue-and-white and dignified warmth in Xuande red. The decoration is refined rather than excessive, yet rich in symbolic meaning. It is equally suitable for daily tea enjoyment, appreciative handling, or as a meaningful collectible and gift.
