Basic Information

This Zongzi-shape Wild White Tea is meticulously selected from the pristine, high-altitude tea gardens of the Zhenghe region in Fujian, situated at an elevation exceeding 1,200 meters. The tea garden boasts superior ecological conditions and an outstanding mountain environment, guaranteeing the tea's exceptional quality. The tea trees are all over 50 years old with robust trunks, growing naturally without human intervention. This pristine environment imparts the tea with a unique "Wild Character (野韵, Ye Yun)" and "Clustered Rhythm (枞韵, Cong Yun)," carrying an inherent coolness that reflects the natural endowment of high-mountain old-growth tea.

This tea is produced using a combination of traditional and specialized techniques. First, after the fresh leaves are strictly selected, they undergo a special steaming process to soften them, after which they are laboriously bundled into the distinctive zongzi shape by hand. Given the height of the old tree branches, harvesting is difficult, requiring the use of ladders or layering techniques. This unique binding process not only gives the product a distinctive appearance but also facilitates subsequent brewing. Notably, the bamboo thread used for binding has been inspected and can be safely steeped together with the tea.

This high-mountain old-growth tea is characterized by high sweetness, a subtle milky aroma, and ample wild character. Although the picking grade is not the highest, its tea liquor is delicately smooth, sweet, and mellow, with absolutely no bitterness or roughness throughout the infusion. When brewed using the Gongfu method, a clear, long-lasting floral fragrance is present, accompanied by an elegant clearness and a faint milky sweetness. Its brewing durability is exceptionally high, easily withstanding more than 20 infusions. Even after multiple steepings, the flavor remains robust, and it can be subsequently transferred to a kettle for boiling, yielding a rich and satisfying taste.

Steeping Guidelines

Easy Mug Brew

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:100. Put the leaves directly into a mug, add boiling water, and steep for 5 to 7 minutes. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing.

Traditional Gongfu Style

Use one 7 g bundle (do not untie the bamboo binding). Water temperature is 100°C / 212°F. Any vessel is suitable as long as it can hold the entire bundle. Rinse once with a quick pour to awaken the aroma, then brew with boiling water for 20 seconds per infusion, increasing each subsequent infusion by 5–10 seconds. This tea does not become bitter or astringent, so longer infusions are acceptable.

Thermal Steeping

Use one bundle (do not untie the bamboo binding). Rinse once, then place it into a 1,000 ml ceramic-lined thermos. Fill with boiling water and steep for 2 hours.
