Time and Itinerary

(June 22 - July 3, 2025)

The first "Exploring the Origins and Secrets of Chinese Tea" Tea Journey, organized by the Chinese Tea Alliance and Xiao Shi Jie Ping Cha, will take place from June 22 to July 3, 2025, covering Hangzhou, Yixing, Wuyishan, and Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. The journey will last for 12 days and 11 nights, and registration is now open. 

June 22-23

Hangzhou· Zhejiang

  • Airport pick-up, hotel check-in. Welcome dinner with Hangzhou specialties, introduction to the itinerary.(June 22)
  • China Tea Museum.
  • The Eighteen Imperial Tea Trees 十八棵御茶树 and the National Gift Tea Processing Center; experience Longjing tea frying.
  • Experience incense culture. Tea tasting of famous green teas.

June 24-25

Yixing · Jiangsu

  • China Yixing Ceramics Museum.
  • Shugu Zisha 蜀古紫砂, Tao Er Factory 陶二厂, experience Zisha pottery making.
  • Visit to Master Lv Junjie’s studio 吕俊杰大师, Master Ji Yishun’s studio 季益顺大师, Master Ge Haoxiang’s studio 葛昊翔大师.

June 26-29

Wuyi Mountain · Fujian

  • Wuyishan Scenic Area, enjoy the scenery of the Nine Bend Stream, experience the growing environment of the Da Hong Pao mother trees.
  • Wuyishan Tea Museum, in-depth understanding of the history and culture of rock tea.
  • Visit national-level Wuyishan Rock Tea Intangible Cultural Heritage inheritors; experience the processing of Wuyishan rock tea, taste the Four Famous Varieties (Da Hong Pao, Shui Jin Gui, Tie Luo Han, Bai Ji Guan), and learn about the impact of roasting on tea fragrance.
  • Experience the making of Wuyishan Lapsang Souchong and Jin Jun Mei, learn about traditional processing techniques, and taste different aged black teas, experiencing the evolution of pine smoke and honey fragrances.

June 30 - July 3

Xishuangbanna · Yunnan

  • Visit famous Pu'er tea factories; learn about the production process of Pu'er tea, including fixing, rolling, sun-drying, and pile fermentation. Experience the tea-making process firsthand and learn modern Pu'er tea processing and storage methods.
  • Walk through Nannuo Mountain 南糯山 Ancient Tea Garden thousand-year-old tea garden, view century-old ancient tea trees, pick fresh leaves, and experience the ancient tea-picking methods of the Dai and Hani ethnic groups. Learn sun-dried green tea production from local tea farmers.
  • He Kai 贺开 Ancient Tea Garden: Explore the well-preserved ancient tea forest and understand the features of eco-friendly tea gardens. Compare the flavor profiles of Pu'er teas from different mountains such as Yiwu, Bulang, and Nannuo.
  • Visit the Pu'er tea region in the Bulang Mountain 布朗山 area, explore the contributions of the Bulang ethnic group to Pu'er tea development, and visit the Old Ban Zhang 老班章 Village to appreciate the ancient tea tree groves. Experience the "Tea King" Old Ban Zhang Pu'er tea and immerse in the tea culture of the Bulang ethnic group.
  • Experience local ethnic minority culture and sightseeing.

The fee covers:

(The tour fee: $3,000 USD)

Included: Transportation, accommodation in single-room (a double room option is available), meals, scenic spot entrance fees, instructor fees, tea tasting fees, and materials for purple clay teapot and tea, from airport pickup on June 22 to checkout on July 3, 2025.

Excluded: The costs of traveling to Hangzhou and departing from Xishuangbanna, personal expenses, and personal short-term travel insurance.

The Chinese Tea Alliance is responsible only for organizing, providing services, and guiding, and does not assume any liability for accidents during the tour. Participants are responsible for their own safety and are advised to purchase personal travel accident insurance.

Beyond tea and tea culture, we also place great emphasis on the culinary experience. We carefully select the most distinctive local dishes and strive to immerse you in the authentic local lifestyle.

For accommodations, we select hotels or homestays with which we have long-term partnerships, ensuring a comfortable stay and, whenever possible, providing you with beautiful surroundings for tea tasting and convenient access to tea factories for tea making.

The Tea Journey is open to minors (accompanied by parents or guardians).

Participants in this tea journey will also receive a tea gift set. Additionally, a professional photography team will accompany the journey, and at the end of the trip, you will receive a unique collection of photos & videos capturing your experience.
