Basic Information

Yongchun Foshou Oolong Tea is a distinctive oolong from Yongchun County in China's Fujian Province. Named for the Buddha's Hand citron, the tea is famous for its unique fragrance and noble reputation, even earning the nickname "Golden Buddha's Hand." The local terroir, with its ample rainfall, warm temperatures, and rich red soil, provides the perfect conditions for growing this special tea. More than just a pleasant drink, Yongchun Foshou Oolong is also valued for its potential health benefits, which include aiding digestion, supporting cardiovascular health, and helping to manage weight.

This fragrant, tightly pressed style of 2013 Foshou Oolong, crafted in the spring of 2013, is particularly rare. It was produced under optimal conditions: three to four consecutive sunny days, light northern breezes, temperatures around 24 °C, and relative humidity near 75%. Such precise natural circumstances, combined with traditional craftsmanship, give rise to a tea of remarkable aroma and character—an exceptional expression of Fujian oolong heritage.

Steeping Guidelines

Traditional Gongfu Style

Use 5 grams of tea and place it in a gaiwan or a Yixing teapot. Pour in boiling water to brew. For the first five infusions, pour out the tea immediately without resting. From the sixth to the tenth infusion, allow the tea to steep for 5 to 20 seconds before pouring.

Thermal Steeping

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:200. Pour boiling water into a ceramic-lined insulated flask or teapot. Close the lid and let it steep for 1 to 2 hours before drinking. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing and enjoying.
