Basic Information

Sourced from the pristine, rugged mountains of Fengqing, our Centuries-old Tree Black Tea is meticulously handpicked from ancient trees exceeding 100 years in age. Harvested in spring as tender one bud and two leaves, these are true wild mountain teas, flourishing in an isolated and challenging terrain with limited access, earning them the name "free-range teas." Grown at an impressive altitude of 2,300 meters—the highest tea-growing area in China—these teas thrive in their natural environment and have successfully passed national organic certification, a testament to their pure and untamed origin.

To capture the essence of these exceptional leaves, a dedicated tea processing factory has been strategically built at this record high elevation, ensuring the tea is processed immediately after harvest and preventing any compromise to its optimal quality during the long journey out of the mountains. Managed and produced according to stringent organic standards, the dried leaves are notably thick and robust, exuding a high, expressive aroma. The brewed liquor reveals a rich, layered taste, distinguished by a unique wild autumnal charm. With proper aging, this remarkable tea gracefully develops captivating notes of licorice, honey, and a distinct, refreshing coolness.

Steeping Guidelines

Easy Mug Brew

Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:100. Put the leaves directly into a mug, add boiling water, and steep for 5 to 7 minutes. When about one-third of the tea remains, refill with boiling water to continue brewing.

Traditional Gongfu Style

Pre-warm the gaiwan or Yixing teapot. Use a tea-to-water ratio of 1:25. Brew with water at 100°C (212°F). For the first two infusions, steep for about 5 seconds each. Gradually increase the steeping time with each additional infusion. Pour the tea liquor completely out after each brew.
